35 Minutes

Year of creation 2002

Summary
A project on how
we experience the passing of 35 minutes. There are 2100 seconds in 35 minutes. Therefore the piece consists in counting from 1 up to 2100, following a set of well established patterns. A case of revealing exactly how the time spend us..

The dimension of time is not a material, nor an action -
material and action "exist" thanks to the time variable.
These 35 minutes are fundamental to the construction
of the history, we cannot eliminate them, because
otherwise the roof would fall through.
In the thousands of millions of years of our Universe,
these 35 minutes fulfil their own purpose, coming
immediately after the last 35 minutes and slotting in nicely
just before the following 35 minutes, which consists in
signifying consistency. There is no simpler explanation
to this than simply revealing the fact of the passing of
time and the resources of calculation we use.
There are 2100 seconds in 35 minutes, and therefore
our piece consists in counting from 1 to 2100 in front of
the audience.
